This reprise of Nostalgia, also known as "Anna" was used in Series 1 and 3 of the BBC1 Wallander series starring Kenneth Brannagh. The music for the series won a BAFTA.
As the title suggests, this not a full song, but a "reprise" of the main theme for Wallander (the full song is "Nostalgia"). When Nostalgia was chosen as the theme for Wallander, Emily went in to Martin Phipps' studio to record parts specifically for the TV series, including this part, which was originally used in a scene entitled "Anna" in the first series.
It was later used for the closing credits of Series Three, and since that point we have had so many requests for this specific piece of music that we went back and recovered as much as we could.
However, it was only ever recorded to last under a minute to play during the scene from the first series so was never actually recorded as a complete "song" as such - it is the same as Nostalgia except with one chord changed in the "chorus" section, and has none of the other instrumentation that you'll find on the full version of Nostalgia.
